π§ Update v1.3 β Ladder Climb Up, Idle & Exit
Hey there, devs! π
Here comes another update! This time, Iβm expanding the Climb category with new ladder animations that make your characters more dynamic and versatile. Whether your game has tight platforming or exploratory areas, these additions will help enhance your movement system.
π§ Whatβs New in v1.3?
This update introduces 3 new animations for vertical ladders. Your character can now climb up, stay idle mid-climb, or exit at the top.
π New animations:
β Default Male / Climb Ladder Idle (1 frame)
β Default Male / Climb Exit (4 frames)
The Climb Ladder Up animation can be reversed to simulate a smooth descent. The Ladder Idle pose only required a single frame for now—simple but functional! I might expand it in future updates with a few subtle motions.
As for Climb Exit, its name was intentionally kept more general: it works not only as the final motion of a ladder climb, but also fits perfectly as a ledge exit animation. This makes it a more flexible asset for various climbing scenarios.
As always, all animations are included in every format: PNG frame sequences, sprite sheets (with and without trim), GIF previews, and the editable .AI
source file.
Thanks again for the continued support—it really helps shape the direction of the pack! Next, Iβll focus on expanding the combat animation set for the default_male character and begin preparing environment assets for the project. If you have ideas or suggestions, feel free to share them in the devlogs or the community section.
