This update introduces the first wave of combat animations, designed to give your characters more attitude and reactive movement. After a big production push and with the support of a growing community, the initial animations are now ready — with more to come in future updates!

πŸ”§ What’s New in v1.4?

This update includes four essential animations for any game that features action or combat: a fighting idle stance, a mid-height punch, a mid-height kick, and a front hit reaction. They cover the core interactions needed to start building responsive and readable combat mechanics.

βœ… Default Male / Idle Fight (8 frames)
βœ… Default Male / Damaged Front (8 frames)
βœ… Default Male / Punch Mid Straight (4 frames)
βœ… Default Male / Kick Mid (7 frames)

Idle Fight is a neutral but alert stance, ready to transition into combat. The new Punch and Kick are both mid-height attacks, ideal for establishing the core feel of action gameplay. Higher and lower strikes will follow in future updates to complete the range.

Damaged Front is the hit reaction when the character takes damage from the front. It works well with both idle animations. If your character uses Idle Expressive as the default pose, there’s an extra frame included to make the transition smoother. This extra frame isn’t needed if you're using Idle Fight.

As usual, all animations are available in every format: PNG frame sequences, sprite sheets (with and without trim), GIF previews, and the editable .AI source file.
